The "let me see" emoji, which features a face with a peeking eye, has become a heated topic among net users because of its resemblance to Prince Yongqi in the hit TV drama, Princess Huanzhu.

今年上半年，微信的表情符号就更新了一波，顺便来回顾一下：

吃瓜 Onlooker

吃瓜的字面意思是 eating watermelon，微信官方对这个表情的翻译是Onlooker（看客）。在英语中还有一个比较接近的说法是grab popcorn（准备好看热闹），还可以灵活的说成“sooo excited！popcorns is ready！”“pass the popcorn。”（给我点爆米花，我们一起坐等好戏）
这个对于不了解中国网络用语的老外，解释起来会稍微复杂些，可以和歪果仁这么解释：

Literally, the emoji is called "eating watermelon", which is derived from the Chinese words "吃瓜群众" (the watermelon-eating masses).

看到这个表情的时候，点小路第一个想到的词就是“社会”，没想到微信也是这样解释的。社会社会是由之前的“社会我x哥”、“社会我x姐”等词演变而来的，真正火起来是源自于一张“社会社会”的表情包，常在聊天中被大家使用。该词意为形容对方很牛，有着社会大哥霸气的气场，能handle一切，一般人都惹不起不敢惹。

这个词解释起来略微复杂：
